Berkeley Springs is a girlfriend magnet this weekend as everyone goes all out for the 9th annual Hey, Girlfriend celebration. The list of girl-friendly fun ranges from art sales on the street and wine tastings to a quilt show and concert.

Taking a vote, it was decided that the hot special of the weekend is Awakening's offer of free reflexology sessions. Nothing trumps free so also visit Jules gift shop on Saturday for a wine and treats party from 5 to 8pm. Wilkes Street Wine Shop also has a free wine tasting from 1 to 4pm that day.

Art and music again take center stage starting on Thursday when one of the town's favorite girl singers, Cindy Born, hosts jam nite at Tari's Cafe starting at 8pm. On Friday the music scene moves to the Troubadour Lounge, where the heart-throb country rockers, the Weber Brothers, launch the new Friday night concert series. The first show is at 7pm, a second one after dark. They return on Saturday when the Troubadour celebrates the opening of their recording studio with free hot dogs from 1 to 6pm. Sandy Uttley performs from 4:30-6:30. Saturday night do not miss Billy Thompson playing and singing solo blues at the Fairfax Coffee House starting at 8pm.

The spectacular Delectable Mountains Quilt Show fills the special exhibit gallery at the Ice House, open Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. All day Saturday its Art Sales on the street and inside Tari's Cafe and on Sunday it's Art in the Park. The Star Theatre draws girlfriends showing "Letters To Juliet," Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8pm. Saturday from noon to 4pm, the Star lives up to another side of its name hosting fortune telling sessions using cards and stars.

Tari's Cafe has long been Girlfriend HQ and this year is no different. Tiara Time at Tari's on Sunday afternoon invites girls to don their tiaras, wrap their boas and settle in with girly pink cocktails. Don't wait until Sunday to stop by. As a benefit for Stepping Stones, an organization to assist abused women, Tari's is selling Girlfriend logoed totes filled with prizes from local businesses and a tiara.

Eating and drinking are highlighted with a half price Ladies Nights drink special at the Country Inn's tavern on Friday and Saturday, multi-course fixed price dinner specials at Panorama at the Peak and a champagne brunch on Sunday, plus an Italian cooking class and multi-course feast at Villa Firenze. Highlawn Inn pampers its lodging guests with a wine, cheese and chocolate tasting on Saturday afternoon. The cool new outside bar at Ambrae House complete with outstanding appetizers and happy hour specials could be a perfect gathering spot.

Shopping specials can be found at Nature Niche where all wearables are on sales and at Berkeley Springs Books. Creekside Creamery has a little of everything from samplings and sales to free gifts. The Vintage Kitchen is celebrating girlfriends with a surprise gift bag and refreshments.

Spa specials are available at the Bath House Day Spa with special offerings for friends and Atasia where you can bring a girlfriend free into your steam or whirlpool bath. Girlfriends can assemble their own spa tour, sampling among 53 different body treatments at five spas or treatment centers ranging from European facials and La Stone massage to acupuncture and mud wraps.
